Structural Pain Massage is a combination of Positive Affect Massage, Primal Relfex Release Technique as well as other more traditional massage modalities such as Myofascial Release and Deep Tissue Massage. Each massage treatmeis formatted to the individual client to fit their particular needs.
Positive Affect Massage uses specific pressures and speeds designed to give the client the most psychological reward. This well-researched modality has been proven to better reduce cortisol, lower heart rate, and release more oxytocin than other massage modalities.
Studies have shown that positive affect massage activates specific nerve fibers (CT afferents) in the skin that then activate the reward, social cognition, emotional salient, and peripheral autonomic nervous system. These areas of the brain are linked to processing emotional information, heart rate, and self-awareness.
Positive Affect Massage helps treat depression, anxiety, and helps obtain an overall sense of connection and wellbeing.
Primal Reflex Release Technique is a gentle, non-invasive technique that aims to treat chronic or acute pain by normalizing the body's primal reflexes.
These reflexes, which include the startle and withdrawal impulses, are thought to be overstimulated in people experiencing pain or other forms of trauma.
PRRT can help the body by down regulating the autonomic nervous system and realigning muscle compensation patterns.
